DPD makes me want to dash my brains out against a wall

Timeline:
Email at 2:00: Your Jimmy Joy order is due for delivery on Wednesday 3rd October (apparently I will be given a 1 hour window)
Text at 10:00: Driver will deliver your order between 10:30 and 11:30

What the blazes am I meant to do with just 30 minutes notice? Or am I just supposed to hang around the entire day waiting?

So, once again, I will have to repeat this process tomorrow.
