It for sure should not be garbage, we take great pride in our products and if a shaker ever does not stand the test of time or handling, we will of course replace it. I do love your alternative suggestion though, it’s always good to have other options.

I use the net to shake before leaving home, remove the net and rinse it before I go and then I do the same as you (rinse with cold water and use as drinking bottle), and that works perfectly for me!
